What is the SRV Minor Facilities Grants?
The Sport and Recreation Victoria minor facilities grants are part of the State Government's commitment to the development of grassroots sport and recreation facilities throughout Victoria. The minor facilities grants contribute to the provision of high quality and accessible community sport and recreation facilities across Victoria.
Under the Gaming Machine Control Act 1991 (the ACT) allows for the direction of a portion of the government revenue from gaming machines in hotels to programs and projects which will benefit the Victorian community. This includes programs for the benefit of sport or recreation within the State.
How do I access the funds?
Application forms are released approximately one month before the closing date. Only Councils are eligible to apply directly to SRV for funds under this program. Community organisations do, however, have the opportunity to access funds by applying directly to their local Council.
Each Council has the opportunity to submit five (5) projects to SRV. Council determines which applications are forwarded to SRV for consideration, based on their own selection criteria.
The closing date for expressions of interest for the SRV Minor facilities Grants is usually October of each year.
What will be considered for funding?
A wide variety of sport and recreation projects are eligible for funding under this program. However, priority will be given to projects that:
-
Broaden community access and increase and/or maintain opportunities for participation,
-
Improve access to those groups traditionally disadvantaged,
-
Address issues around safety and risk management,
-
Provide opportunities for informal sport and recreational pursuits,
-
Maximise the range of users of a facility.
PLEASE NOTE: Facilities located on private land must provide evidence of an agreement between the club and the respective Council regarding public accessibility of the facility.
How do I apply?

Contact Council's Recreation Development Officer to discuss your project.
-
When available complete the application form and return it to Council, making sure you check with Council to determine the process for submitting the application
