    (Western LCP) provides careers and transitions support to young people in Melbourne’s Western Region.

    Connectus
    Connectus  is an initiative of the Premier's Drug Prevention Council and is a unique prevention and early intervention program that offers employment, education and training opportunities to young people 16-20 years of age who are disengaged from education. The program is part of the Premiers Drug Prevention Strategy aimed at preventing problematic drug and alcohol use through the provision of employment, education and training opportunities.

    To minimise risk taking behaviour in young people 16 - 20 years of age who are disengaging from education, by providing access to employment, education and training opportunities and support from the business, community and employment sectors.

    Create 
    CREATE Youth provides accredited training for young people aged 16 to 19 years who are not enrolled in school. Young people improve their educational and employment opportunities by gaining an accredited qualification in the Certificate in General Education for Adults.

    The Visy Cares Link Centre, located in Laverton, is a transition centre.   They are exclusively focused on the needs of local young people between 11 and 13.5 years of age and who are not attending either years 7 or 8 of secondary schooling.

     

    Western Metropolitan Region Youth Services
    This directory was compiled by Western Local Community Partnership (WLCP) with the support of Youth Services across the region.
    It is intended that the directory will provide information about the people and services in the Brimbank, Melton, Maribyrnong, Moonee Valley, Hobsons Bay and Wyndham area that can help students at risk of exiting school early so that they continue studying at school or connect to further training and employment options.

    This brochure highlights the positive contribution that the study of languages makes to children's development of literacy skills in English. The development of the brochure was funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST) under the National Asian Languages and Studies in Australian Schools (NALSAS) Strategy.
